We have an adoption update sent in from Maxima, who adopted Burt earlier this year! Maxima came to CCS looking for a senior kitty who needed love, and found exactly that.
Burt is “the most laid back cat I’ve ever met,” Maxima says. “He had almost no adjustment period and made himself right at home in my apartment. I have since moved and he’s taken it like a champ. I also have adopted a second cat (Phoenix from CCS) and foster kittens for the shelter I work at. He isn’t bothered by them one bit and will often let them join him in his favorite window.
“Burt’s favorite thing is to sleep in a window sill or small space. UNLESS, someone is laying bed, in which he will force his way into becoming the little spoon. He will lay curled up with you for hours, only getting up to dip his whole face in his water fountain and bringing at least a cup of water in his fur back to bed for you. He also enjoys hiking. And by hiking I mean being carried in a back pack until we set up for a picnic where he can nap in the sun.
“He’s a fantastic brother to Jyn (used to be Phoenix at CCS), teaching her that other cats aren’t all that scary, and a great foster dad to the kittens I bring home that are looking for the comfort of an adult cat. He’s the best friend I could ask for and I couldn’t have found a more perfect buddy. I love him with my whole heart and even though he’s almost 16 now, I know we’ll have many more wonderful years together.”
