We have an #adoptionupdate from Andrea, who adopted the little black kitten Batty (now known as Frankie) about two months ago. Batty’s mom was actually pregnant when she came to the shelter, and her kittens were born here!

“I had three other cats aged 17, 15 and 9, and I missed the excitement of having a kitten in the house,” Andrea told us. “I had been looking for a while and reached out to CCS inquiring about kittens. I was told to check the site as it was updated daily and that’s when I saw Batty. I have an affection for black cats and he was just so adorable. I filled out the adoption application and planned to go the next day and said if he’s still there then it’s fate.”

It was fate.

Ironically, shortly after Andrea brought Frankie home, she found out that she was approved to adopt a girl kitten she saw at another shelter earlier in the week, and was able to pick her up the next day. She took her home too, the two kittens became instant best friends. They quickly adjusted — even if the resident senior girl cat wasn’t too thrilled — and love to play, play, play.

“Frankie is doing great in the almost two months he’s been part of our family,” Andrea said. “Unfortunately, my 17-year-old boy passed away three weeks ago, but for the month he spent with Frankie and his sister Josie, he taught them a lot, and they carry on a lot of his habits so his memory lives on through them. He loves his tunnels and a ball train – HE LOVES JINGLE BALLS – and even a little scrap of paper is a toy to him.

“He’s developed a special bond with my other black cat Spencer who is much larger than him, but Spencer has been so sweet with the little guy.

“I’m so glad I decided to adopt a couple of kittens. It made the passing of Parker a little easier to deal with — I’m even crying writing this — because they are good at reminding me life does go on. Thank you, CCS, for taking such good care of my little Frankie until he could be part of my little family.”
