Happily Homed: William, Shanti and Namaste

Amanda Huggett

We have an #adoptionupdate from Jennifer, who adopted William, Shanti, and Namaste (changed to Kazuri) in December 2019. Shanti and Kazuri are tuxedo cats who also were littermates. William is a long hair gray and white fluff ball! Jennifer came to the shelter originally looking for two bonded older cats.

She says: “Each of the cats was about 6 months old when I adopted them. I kept them in my room for about a week to allow them to get used to the new place. All three were in the same room at Cat Care Society, so they already knew each other. After the first week, I let them explore the house. I don’t think any of them had seen stairs before! It took each of them awhile to figure out how to go down the steps.

“William likes to play with toys, especially the laser light. He would chase that all day if he could. Kazuri and Shanti, being siblings, always snuggled up together; sometimes I had trouble figuring out where one ended and the other began! All three love to stretch in the sun and lounge on their cat condo.

“Unfortunately, Kazuri died recently (February 14, 2024) from aggressive lymphoma. She was a sweet but feisty girl who I’ll miss forever. I’m grateful I adopted her; I just wish she’d had more than 5 years.”

We thank Jennifer for adopting these cats and send our condolences on the loss of Kazuri.
