We have an #adoptionupdate sent in from Stephanie, who adopted Otis in October 2022. Otis needed a little more care than the average kitten, as he developed an upper respiratory infection and a corneal ulcer that took a few months to treat and heal. With some TLC from our medical team, he made it though just fine!
Stephanie came into CCS looking for a black male cat 3 to 6 years old to be friends with her 3-year-old black female cat. However, Otis, a 6 months old at the time, had other plans!
Stephanie says: “I wanted a black cat because all of my black cats had been wonderful and I knew they didn’t get adopted as often. We had lost my other cat’s buddy, a 15-year-old Maine Coon mix. Of course, best-laid plans, we found Otis. A 6-month-old kitten. He was sleeping the whole time we were there and we were told he was pretty mellow. He still gets the zoomies in the morning but over all, he wasn’t your typical kitten. My existing cat has warmed up to him and they play. He is so awesome!!! Quite the huge personality.
“He started bringing us his feather toys so we would play with him. We got a stuffed fish as a gift and he started bringing it to us so we threw it and he brought it back thus the fetching started. We have since bought him some dog toys and his favorite is a stuffed duck. He plays fetch with that all the time. Too cute. He also loves to cuddle right up to your face. He is very affectionate and he loves belly rubs. We absolutely love Otis. He is one of a kind and once in a lifetime cat.”
