We have an #adoptionupdate sent in from Sherri, who adopted Lucy in April 2023 as part of the foster to adopt program.

When Sherri’s family lost their beloved cat Ever in December of 2022, they wanted to find a cat in need. Then they saw that Lucy, a 17 year old cat, was at the shelter, and knew they needed to give her a home!

“Lucy came out of the crate on the day we brought her home purring and hasn’t stopped! While we have had a few health set backs, due to her dental needs, she has thrived! She now walks around her kingdom letting us all know what she requires with her gravelly, old lady meow. Lucy makes sure she gets her breakfast at 5:30 am! We just love our Lucy! While she is 17, you would never know it. She gets the zoomies every night, plays with her toys a lot, and jumps with ease onto the furniture.”

Sherri says: “Don’t let a cat’s age deter you from adopting them! Lucy brings so much joy and happiness to us- we can’t imagine life without her!”

Have you adopted from CCS in the past? We’d love to hear how it’s going! Send us your adoption success stories (and photos!) to be featured in our #adoptionupdate series on social media or on our website.
