Donate Your Vehicle
Got an old vehicle you no longer need? Save the hassle of selling it and donate it instead! A portion of the proceeds will help us provide care for more cats.
Donate a Vehicle to Cat Care Society
Do you have a new or used car or truck that you’re willing to part with? Instead of selling, trading or storing your vehicle, why not donate it instead?
Cat Care Society has partnered with Vehicles For Charity to provide an easy-to-use, tax-deductible process to donate your vehicle. You can donate most any vehicle, including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. They do not even have to be in working condition!
Best of all, your donation will make a big difference in supporting Colorado cats in need.
How it Works
Vehicles for Charity will make all the arrangements, and the towing is FREE. A towing company will call you to schedule the pick-up of your vehicle. You will need to give the driver the keys to the vehicle as well as your signed title. Your vehicle donation will be sold at an auction or to salvage, depending on the condition.
To get started, just complete the online form or call VFC directly at 866-628-CARS (2277).
Please have the following information ready so that your donation can be processed and VFC can schedule the proper arrangements:
VIN number
- Title number
About Vehicles for Charity
When you donate your vehicle through Vehicles for Charity, you can be assured that 100% of the net funds generated from the sale of your donation will be distributed to legitimate 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. Vehicles for Charity acts as the agent for the other charities. A split of the net proceeds goes to both organizations.
Vehicles for Charity was founded with the purpose of providing a win-win situation, one charity helping another. Its mission is to generate funds that allow the charities listed on its site to fulfill their goals and missions. Vehicles for Charity is owned and operated by the arc Thrift Stores, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1968 to support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
One Woman’s Experience Donating Her Car
Linda Frechette (pictured above) recently donated her older car, which ended up being the equivalent of a $2,728 donation to Cat Care Society. She shared this about the experience: “As we were getting ready to move across country a few months ago, I knew I would need to either sell or donate my reliable but older 2003 Toyota Corolla that I’ve owned for 20 years. My daughter, Christie, who worked as a kennel tech at Cat Care back in 2017, suggested I donate my vehicle to help Cat Care Society. I thought that was a fantastic idea since her heart had been absolutely captured by the many sweet felines there as they wait for their forever home. (We had also adopted two older cats from CCS several years ago who keep our lives filled with smiles every day!)
“It was such a simple process and a very easy form to fill out. We had all the information needed such as vehicle location, VIN and mileage. We took a photo of the title and attached it to the form, answered basic questions about the vehicle and repairs it had over the years. I received a call and email from Vehicles for Charity with all the necessary information to proceed, as well as a donation number assigned to me. I then received a call from the tow company the next day and within 48 hours, they came by my home and picked it up. I received a formal letter of thanks and acknowledgment from the executive director stating the many ways that my donation helps the shelter cats. Afterward, I received my 1098-C tax form regarding the donation. It was probably one of the easiest processes I’ve ever experienced when donating larger items and as always, it’s a pleasure being able to help Cat Care Society.”
