Donate Your Vehicle
Got an old vehicle you no longer need? Save the hassle of selling it and donate it instead! A portion of the proceeds will help us provide care for more cats.
Donate a Vehicle to Cat Care Society
Do you have a new or used car or truck that you’re willing to part with? Instead of selling, trading or storing your vehicle, why not donate it instead?
Cat Care Society has partnered with Vehicles For Charity to provide an easy-to-use, tax-deductible process to donate your vehicle. You can donate most any vehicle, including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. They do not even have to be in working condition!
Best of all, your donation will make a big difference in supporting Colorado cats in need.
How it Works
Vehicles for Charity will make all the arrangements, and the towing is FREE. A towing company will call you to schedule the pick-up of your vehicle. You will need to give the driver the keys to the vehicle as well as your signed title. Your vehicle donation will be sold at an auction or to salvage, depending on the condition.
To get started, just complete the online form or call VFC directly at 866-628-CARS (2277).
Please have the following information ready so that your donation can be processed and VFC can schedule the proper arrangements:
VIN number
- Title number

One Woman's Experience Donating her Car
When the power steering started to go out on my 2006 Acura, I decided it was time to let it go. I didn’t want to put any more money than it was worth into fixing it, but I didn’t want to try to sell it in the shape it was in.
I knew I wouldn’t get much for it if I traded it into a dealer so I wanted an alternative. I’ve been a volunteer at Cat Care Society since 2016, so I knew about the great work they do for cats, and that they accept all types of donated vehicles, working or not.
The process could not have been easier. Shortly after I submitted my information on the website, I got a call to schedule a pick up time for the car that was convenient for me. When they showed up to tow the car for free, I handed them the signed title and keys and that was it!
The paper work was a simple form that only needed the vehicle details, title number, and location. I was sent the necessary receipt and tax form showing the value the vehicle was sold for, to include with my annual tax filing, along with a lovely thank you letter from Cat Care Society.
I was glad the donation was tax deductible but more than that, I was excited about helping the cats in need through my donation. It was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone in the position to donate!
