Lakewood, CO (February 2, 2024) — Cat Care Society (CCS), a non-profit cat shelter that provides adoption services and care for cats in the Denver metro area, announces that it has been named a top 3 finalist in the West Metro Chamber’s 2024 Bourbon St. Bash Awards & Member Celebration.
Nominated as a Nonprofit Organization, Cat Care Society is one of three finalists in the category, along with Foothills Regional Housing and Friends of Dinosaur Ridge. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on February 13.
Bourbon St. Bash, formerly Celebrate Jeffco, celebrates and honors the outstanding economic, social and community contributions West Metro Chamber members have made across Jeffco and beyond.

West Metro Chamber of Commerce Vice President Erin Acheson also expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating: “We have an incredible membership – solopreneurs, small businesses, large business, nonprofit organizations, cities and municipalities – who are actively supporting other member and non-member businesses across Jeffco and beyond. The Bourbon St. Bash Member Celebration is a testament to the hard work and dedication each of these individuals and businesses put into our vibrant community. And we’ll throw a little Mardi Gras flare in there for good measure.”
In 2023, Cat Care Society cared for 1,245 cats and adopted out 1,099 cats and kittens — a significant increase from the prior year’s numbers of 860 and 750, respectively. The organization also recently earned a four-star rating on Charity Navigator and a Platinum seal of transparency from Candid.
