| This year our 20th Annual Dinner and Auction was held on September 12th at the Marriott located in Golden. There were approximately 200 people that attended this event and everyone had a wonderful time. The theme this year – was Kits and Katz in Hollywood and participants could dress up as either their favorite Hollywood celebrity or character in a movie. Visit Jaime Rowe's Online Album to see lots of great pictures of the event. In order to keep the price of tickets lower than previous years, we served a buffet – which was a hit! The pasta bar was really great and the desserts were delicious. Again, Don Martin was our auctioneer and as usual, he really got the crowd excited during the live and paddle auctions. Also, Jane Sievers, committee head of the Silent Auction worked incredibly hard to have some fantastic items available in our silent auction. CCS wishes to extend a great big thanks to Travis Risner as our Emcee. Unfortunately, our original Emcee, Chris was unable to help us due to work constraints, so Travis volunteered at the last minute and did a wonderful job! CCS also wishes to recognize and thank our corporate sponsors. These organizations included Precious Cat, Lockton, Care Animal Hospital, Duell and Associates, MileHigh Newspaper, Jaime Rowe Photography, Tender Touch Animal Hospital, David Barnes Scenographic, Claudia O’Hara, Ciber Inc., Western Sky Designs, and Publication Design, Inc. The cats also appreciate all the support from the Auction Committee and all the volunteers that helped that night. Of course, the best thing was that after we paid all our bills, we had raised over $31,000 for the cats. In addition, one generous patron matched the paddle auction proceeds of $10,000 with another $10,000. Thanks again to all the participants for your support! It was a very successful event. |
